One of the key obligations on Muslims during the Holy month of Ramadan is to donate fitrana on or before the morning of Eid-ul-Fitr. Fitrana is a small sum of money per person which is given prior to Eid Salah to enable those in need to celebrate the completion of the auspicious month and join in the festivities of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Fitrana, also known as Zakat-ul-Fitr is compulsory for all Muslims regardless of age or status. The only individuals exempt from paying fitrana are those who do not have over approximately 2kg of staple food in excess of their needs.

Fitrana can be paid during the Holy month of Ramadan as long as payment is made prior to the congregational prayers on the morning of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Sacrifice, commonly known as Qurbani, means slaughter of an animal in the name of Allah on the 10th, 11th or 12th of the Islamic month of Zil Hijjah.

The Prophet Muhammad ( صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) was once asked by his Companions: “O Prophet of Allah! What is this qurbani?” He replied, “It is the Sunnah of your father Ibrahim (A.S).” (Hadith – Ibn Majah) Allah (swt) says in the Qur’an: “It is neither their flesh nor their blood that reaches Allah; it is your piety that reaches Him.” (Qur’an 22:37) Qurbani has been performed from the time of Ibrahim (as) and commemorates also Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son, who was replaced by an animal at the time of sacrifice.

Alhamdulillah, Al-Faizan welfare trust managed more than 100 Qurbanis in 2020 (1431hijri). And distributed the meat to deserving people. With our clear & clean moto we showed the Qurbanis (animals) to people before and after the sacrifice.
